Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
Edmonton Branch hosts and encourages the formation of Special Interest Groups. These groups meet to focus on their specific area of genealogical interest.
Belonging to a SIG can help you tap into the experience of others and collaborate on research, forging friendships in the process. SIG groups provide the opportunity to exchange ideas and keep members informed about new genealogical records and developments. They lead various topics of interest, organize meetings, invite guest speakers and help each other with their genealogical brick walls.
SIGs generally meet at the Edmonton Branch Library, but due to the pandemic, groups are meeting virtually on Zoom or have suspended meetings until a future date. Check the Events page for information on scheduled meetings.
Members of the general public are welcome to attend one session for each of our Special Interest Groups (SIGs). To attend additional sessions you are required to become a member of the Alberta Genealogical Society - Edmonton Branch.
